Saag  Paneer  (Spinach with Cheese)

 

Ingredients

 

500gms Fresh Saag (Spinach)
100gms Paneer (Cheese)
2 Onions

Grated Ginger

Garlic paste
5-6 tablespoons of oil
1 tablespoon pure ghee
Garam masala to taste
Red chilli powder to taste
1 teaspoon cumin powder
Salt to Taste

 

Cooking  saag  paneer

Clean and wash spinach.

Boil the spinach in water and let it cool.

Now mash the spinach in a mixer.

Heat the oil in a pan. Add ginger and garlic paste and stir-fry for a minute.

Now add onions and fry till golden brown.

Add all spices except the red chilli powder.

Now add the spinach and a little water if needed and cook for 4-5 minutes.

Cut paneer into pieces (Paneer can be fried to golden brown in a separate pan or can be used as it is).

Add Paneer pieces to the sauce and cook until done.

Place the saag paneer in a bowl.

Just before serving, heat pure ghee in a small pan.

Add chilli powder and immediately pour the ghee on the saag  paneer.
